David Brown was wearing brown shoes. The suspect who has a wife named Judy was wearing brown shoes. Therefore, David Brown has a wife named Judy. The murderer has a wife named Pam, so David Brown is not the murderer.
The suspect who is 5 feet 9 inches tall has a wife named Pam. The suspect who is 5 feet 9 inches tall was wearing blue shoes. The suspect who was wearing blue shoes is not the one who was wearing a yellow shirt. Therefore, one suspect is 5 feet 9 inches tall, has a wife named Pam, was wearing blue shoes, and is not the one who was wearing a yellow shirt. But Jack Smith is 5 feet tall, Larry Edison was wearing a yellow shirt, Tom Alberts was wearing tan shoes, and David Brown has a wife named Judy. Therefore, the only suspect who could be this suspect is Bill Stevenson. Since this suspect, Bill Stevenson, has a wife named Pam and the murderer has a wife named Pam, he is the murderer.
